snow pictures & some oranges

These are not pictures from the recent 8 1/2 inches of snow that we awesomely got two Mondays ago...these are alittle older. I can't remember when it did this snow...perhaps a month ago?? Man, I'm terrible with getting stuff up here...But, nonetheless, here it is for your enjoyment. I do have pictures from the big snow...those are coming soon. Perhaps on Saturday...the next two days of work are crazy, so we'll see.

Oh, yeah, & also some oranges that I ate forever ago are at the end...I just really like the color. :)

wow.

Holy crap, a month ago I tried to cut my arm off. Really. Most of you have heard to story already, but for those of you who haven't....long story short: Working outside, on ladder, with saw, limbing trees, something got in the safety-glassed eye, almost falling, saw slams on left arm. That's pretty much how it went. TOTAL SUCK. So, it didn't saw it...it was more like a super deep puncture. Bled like crazy, I felt woogly, & T took me to the ER.

And...$600 later...here I am. Healed & as good as new. Kinda. I got a nice scar, which I'll have to put up some pics of, and I did nerve damage so it's numb on that spot. Yes, I'm an idiot. But...what can I say...it's not like I meant to do it.

The following picture was taken that day after we got back from the hospital. I took this after I cleaned up the floor & pulled up this glove that was actually stuck to it. Yep, looked like a murder scene. Afterwards, I threw it away & warned Tracy not to kill me over the next few weeks because they would use the glove as evidence in a heartbeat & she'd go straight to jail. End of story.

Well...

Yeah. I guess I'm done with my 365. Well, not done-done. Just on hiatus. This thing is ridiculously hard to keep up with...at least for me. My work schedule has exponentially grown...a little bit faster than I orginally though it was going to before I started this project. Plus, this past Sunday, I was working out in the yard clearing some brush & leaves & limbing some of the trees. To make a super long story short. I cut myself with the hand saw. Pretty damn bad. Really. ER visit & everything. It was scary, but Tra took care of me very well. I'm proud of her for not freaking out. :)

So, my left arm has been out of commission this week, & that put me even MORE behind on my pictures. Plus, the meds I have for it make me want to sleep CONSTANTLY. Other than that, today has been a good day, & I didn't wear my arm sling to work today, so that is a plus. Feeling good. :)

I'm going to restart my blog this weekend with a picture of my bloody work glove when I had my accident...so, look forward to that one. Then my plan after that is to update weekly. Probably on Sundays with my whole week of photos. It's easier that way. Yeah, I know that it seems like I was doing that before, but eh...at least this time it's planned. You know? I don't have the everyday guilt of not posting...so hopefully that will make me feel better. I hate to start something & not finish it.

That's all for now...gotta go BACK to the gym...love you all.

p.s. - oh, btw, the vegetarian thing is going great. I feel good & haven't had any meat since the last time I wrote about it. See, I can stick to some things. :)

Day 30: Mouse In The House

After confirming with Tra that having a mouse in the house is not that bad, I have decided to make it the picture of the day. This is his bait. We caught him in one overnight trapping session, fed him some bread, and sent him on his way. He is now running free in the farthest cul-de-sac from our house. :)

Day 29: "Ragie Wanna Treat?! Treat!"

Rage loves treats.

Day 28: No Pain, No Gain

Strip-set Leg Presses starting at 200lbs. = Barely being able to walk for 3 days afterwards

Day 27: Pizza Night

As some of you may know, we make our own pizzas at home with our awesome Pizza Pizzazz! machine I got at Wally World a christmas ago for Tra. That thing rocks ass. Seriously. Hm, did you know that this Ragu Light has all natural ingredients? I was surprised. We've pretty much upped the ante on what foods we have in the house. I'm learning a lot about different chemicals that are in foods & better alternatives to eating those chemicals. I'm not going to be a pain in the ass about food with all of you, so don't worry.

It seems like whenever anyone mentions better food choices or eating vegetarian foods people make a face and instantly become defensive & judgemental. I can't figure it out. Never will I ever make anyone feel bed about what they choose to eat. BUT I don't want to see that face from anyone anymore...it's kind of upsetting. Like, today...well it started last night. We went to the Capital Ale House downtown, I ordered the black bean vegetarian burger because I wanted something healthy. Other people did too. I was proud. Anyway. I've been back & forth with going for an all-vegetarian diet for a solid month or more now. It's a hard transition, for me at least. Really hard to change habits.

Well, I went through the whole day today without eating any meat whatsoever. I'm pretty proud of myself. I mean, I know it's only one day, but it's a start & i'm taking it meal by meal. I really wasn't planning on blogging about my doing this change, but I did, so here it is. Hopefully everyone will be supportive & not get on my case for it. I won't judge your eating habits, so don't judge mine. Especially while I'm getting used to this...it's no big deal, so I'm sure it will be fine. Right? :)

Damn, that's a lot of talking all for a dumb picture of an empty Ragu jar...

Day 26: Cherry Love

Grocery Shopping Sunday! Yippee! Ugh, food shopping sucks. Lugging around a giant cart of junk just to spend $200 on stuff you're gonna poop out anyway...what a way to spend a mid-morning on a day off. This is our coupon book we use...we are HUGE on coupons. Safe tons of money, takes a little longer to get them all in order, but it's definitely worth it.

Day 25: There's Some Movement On The Western Front!

Wow. So, Tra's brother finally came around & asked us BOTH to come up to his place (near DC) to have dinner with him & his fiancee...don't even get me started. To make a forever long story short, it went well. Tracy is now in the wedding & I'm actually invited. Can you believe that shit?...oh, i mean crap.

The shoe pictures are because I wore them up to dinner with a perfectly coordinating shirt & belt. Holler. Always pimpin...never changes. ha. :)

Day 24: A New Begining...

Ugh, another ridiculous week. I'm posting today to catch up. This is titled 'a new beginning' because I've begun another crochet project...yeah, that's all, nothing amazing happening. :) This is another scarf I'm making for someone I love & who needs a warm neck. Yay!

Day 23: Puffy Coat

I got an awesome deal online the other day on a new winter coat. Yes, I'm alittle late buying a coat for winter, I know. I had one that I got at Target a couple of years ago, but it SUCKS now, & wind goes right through it. In October, I bought a puffy vest (that I've been looking for forever but could never find just the one I wanted) from Lands End. Man, that company ROCKS ASS. Their stuff is really good quality & pretty affordable. It's especially affordable if you wait til they switch seasons & put winter stuff on closeout pricing...hell yeah.

So, in December, T got a new coat from there & I really liked it & she said it's warm as crap. It is too...rated to stay warm til it gets somewhere around -20 degrees or something like that. She got a brown one, & I've just today, received my 'herb green' one. Ha, it's really nice & fits all comfy-like. And I got it for $30...a $60 coat for 1/2 off. Boo-ya. I also got a hat for Tra to match her gloves & scarf that I got her for christmas AND another puffy vest (in khaki)...for $15!!! Those things are usually $35 & they have the same temp rating. Super warm. So the moral is, I got all that stuff plus shipping charges, for the same price as just the coat. Check. And. Mate. I win. :D

I love buttons.

Day 22: Man, It's Ice Outside

It's pretty damn cold out there today...17 degrees, I think. Yes, I'm sure it's much colder in PA, but we southern folk, well, we don't take much to cold. Ha, however...coming home from my morning appointments today, I noticed that our fire pit (that I never covered up before it got cold, but I don't really care) is full of water & all iced over. It's all bumpy & crater-like. So, picture time.

Bubbles!

Crater/holey/ice crack...

Have a good one! Thanks for being patient. Now, I'm all caught up. Hopefully it won't be such a huge break between posts anymore. See you tomorrow...!

Day 21: Finally

We actually did do it. Thank you, America, for actually getting something right.

erin.

Day 20: TV & Crocheting Makes Me Happy

Happy MLK Day! Tomorrow's the big day...Obama will be sworn in. AWESOME. Today though, is normal. T was off...so I trained my morning people, then came home to hang out with her. We watched some tv, & I also finished my mom's Steeler scarf! It is now friends with Tra's new scarf. But, it will be departing soon for PA, to keep my mom's neck warm while she watches the Steelers kick some Cardinal ass!

erin.

Day 19: Pittsburgh's Goin' To The Super Bowl!!

Thank you, Troy, for being awesome & locking the game up so I didn't have to be nervous til the very final second like usual.

erin.

Day 18: TRX Training = Shoot. Me. Now.

Whoa. What a day. After the ridiculously long week that I had, I had to attend a certification course for work. On a Saturday. Yeah, I know. Didn't sleep all night, (cause I was still sick) & then I have to get up at the ass crack of dawn & drive to Richmond for this program. It was an all day thing...from about 7:30 - 5:30 was my entire day. My sickness finally wore off & I started to get into what I was learning.

Let me tell you, this thing is crazy. It's the newest, most elite training you can do at the moment. It was developed by a Navy SEAL for training out in the field or in ships or submarines. You can use it anywhere that you can tie it off at a 6ft. height. It's nuts for me to try & explain what the hell it does...it's more like one of those things you just have to do to understand how FREAKING hard it is. Sore for days...that's all I have to say. Though, my abs were ripped as hell for about that time...they are usually pretty good, but that thing owned them.

The moral of the story is, I'm one of only 6 trainers at the gym presently that can even have clients do this thing. So, that's a great selling point that I plan on getting even MORE clients by using. SO GOOD. :)

Some of the exercises...what a nice book we got with it...

Ab city...every single exercise on this thing uses your core. I was sore for 3 days afterwards...

peace out...
erin.

Day 17: I'm Needy. :(

What a crap day. Super sick & still had to go to work in the morning. Ended up moving a couple of people to come home a sleep on the couch for awhile. Babycat accompanied me with the sleeping, as did my Slanket. So warm & NOT A SNUGGIE! Slankets rule. Accept NO substitutes.

erin.

Day 16: Somethin' Smells Good...

Had some time to clean up the house today. Don't know if I'm liking the composition of this one very much, but it's what you get. Bad picture day, I guess....we all have them. This is the longest week EVER...
